Shades Valley High School Reviews

I love Valley. I will be a sophmore this year and couldn't be happier. They helped me alot being a new student. SVHS is a great school.

I am a student at SVHS, and being from a Birmingham City School, I can tell that the teachers here really care about my education. When I was in Birmingham City the teachers didn't care if I was passing their class or not, they just made sure that they finished the textbook. It didn't matter to them if the student got the material. If a student failed they would say 'Well I went through the text with them'. At SVHS the teachers will show you your grade at request. If someone is failing, the teachers will inform them and the parent of what they need to do to make up the work. They make sure that everyone knows the lesson before moving on the the next. For the teachers at SVHS it's about passing the class not passing the textbook.

The only negative experience I had was that the principal is not quick to call parents back; however, her secretary does a great job at providing answers to questions.
